La Casa sul Lago
“La Casa sul Lago” is a building built in 1883 in the period in which Cadore passed from traditional wooden houses to stone ones. In the 2021 renovation we wanted to keep the flavor of the ancient building. The house overlooks a large lawn facing the lake and is located right at the beginning of the cycle path which gives access to walks surrounded by nature.
Distributed on one level, it is located on the ground floor with easy access for the less young.
Located alongside the main road, it is faced by large green spaces and meadows that slope down to the lake of the Santa Caterina needle and enjoys an excellent view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the most famous peaks of the Sesto Dolomites that surround the town.
Distributed on one level, it is located on the ground floor of the house; the apartment has only one bedroom with a double bed + possible third bed.
The apartment consists of an entrance hall, a kitchen-dining-living room, a bedroom with a double bed plus a third bed for a child (two other emergency beds are available with the sofa bed in the living room), a bathroom and a technical room for a total of 45 square meters. Most of the furniture in honey-colored fir wood is made to measure by skilled local craftsmen.
The apartment offers you an intimate kitchen-living room equipped with all the accessories you may need to enjoy cooking and, from the comfortable bench seating, you can see the sun setting the Tre Cime di Lavaredo ablaze in the morning. The room has a double bed set in a bridge wardrobe while in the opposite wardrobe I got my carpenter friend to insert a foldaway bed so that you can let your child sleep with you. And if you have occasional guests, they can sit on the double sofa bed in the living room.
In the bathroom with shower I wanted to insert a sink carved into the rock that reminds you of the material from which the mountains were born.
If you will be our guests you will have no parking problems and you will not have to worry about towels, blankets and sheets or everything you may need for cooking, which is part of the accommodation equipment, including the washing machine.
The house has a private parking space but there are always free public parking spaces nearby. While we advise against it, if you want to work on your computer or want to share your experience, you can take advantage of the WiFi connection.
Guests will have access to the entire housing unit, in case they want to use the sofa bed they must warn in advance.
It is possible to park the car in the private courtyard or in the nearby public car park.
If you love being outdoors you can do it in the meadows that surround the house and which in the summer flood the rooms with the scent of freshly cut grass or mirror yourself in the waters of Lake Santa Caterina, reachable on foot in a couple of minutes.
Animals are not allowed.
